At big holiday meals, it’s a certainty that your pooch will be under the table eagerly awaiting fallen morsels (extra people = extra food!). While there are many delicious and healthy foods your canine companions
can have, it’s important to keep in mind the things that they can’t.
No-Nos for Doggos:
• Cooked bones of any kind
• Fatty skin or pan drippings
• Foods made with onions, scallions, leeks or garlic
• Foods loaded with gravy, butter, heavy cream, lard and salt
• Sweets (including sugar-free desserts as they might contain xylitol)
• Raw dough (yeast, cookie, etc.)
• Raw potatoes
• Chocolate
• Grapes and raisins
• Alcohol
Canine Can-Dos:
• Turkey

• Salmon
• Cheese
• Pumpkin
• Sweet potatoes
• Green beans
• Carrots
• Celery
• Broccoli
• Fresh strawberries, blueberries and raspberries
After the big holiday meal is over for the humans, style your pup with healthy treats baked with leftovers found on the “nice list.” Mix up turkey and sweet potato with dog-friendly oat flour and flaxseed meal, cut out fun shapes and bake up some doggone delicious delights. Just be sure to step lightly around that cute sous-chef studying your every move from the kitchen floor.
