Easy Homemade Baked Falafel Balls

These Mediterranean-inspired gluten-free falafel balls are not only naturally vegan and packed with good-for-you ingredients, but they’re also bursting with aromatic herbs and spices like cumin, cilantro, parsley and coriander. Their culinary versatility also makes them the perfect complement to countless creations. Whether tucked into a whole-grain pita, layered atop a bed of crisp greens, or enjoyed alongside a platter of pita bread and
creamy hummus, they’re sure to take your senses on a flavorful escape in each bite.
Gluten-Free Falafel Balls (Vegan)
- 1 can (15 oz. chickpeas, drained and rinsed)
- 1 small onion (diced)
- 3 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley (diced)
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro (minced)
- 2 Tbsp. hemp seeds
- 2 Tbsp. sesame seeds
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
- 1 tsp. coriander
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1/2 tsp. Redmond Real Salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 3 Tbsp. Bob’s Red Mill One-to-One Baking Flour Gluten Free
- 1 Tbsp. Organic SunButter Sunflower Butter
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Line rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Spray parchment paper lightly with extra virgin olive oil cooking spray.
- Add all ingredients to food processor or blender. Blend until smooth.
- Using hands or small ice cream scoop, form about 2 Tbsp. of mixture into bite-sized balls and arrange on baking sheet.
- Spray falafel balls lightly with extra virgin olive oil spray and bake 22 minutes or until golden brown.
