Sweet to the body and planet! Fair trade & organic sugar gives our Organic Pump Soaps a rich caramel color and sweet scent. The sugar combines with organic white grape juice to keep your skin nourished, hydrated and smooth. Organic coconut-olive-hemp oils blend for a creamy castile lather & our soapmaking tradition! Organic hemp oil is now sourced in the U.S. following hemp legalization!

Our soap is shown to be readily biodegradable under the stringent testing conditions utilized pursuant to OECD Guideline 310.

Organic Fair Trade Sugar leave skin hydrated and smooth; gives our soaps their caramel aroma and color and keeps them from clogging. Fairly traded to support farmers, producers and their communities!

Organic Shikakai imparts mild smoothness to the soap's lather, gently cleanses skin and conditions hair. Shikakai comes from the seed pods of the small South Asian tree Acacia Concinna and has been used in India for hair and body care for over 1,000 years.

Organic White Grape Juice has complex sugars that nourish the skin, leaving it soft and smooth. Together with organic sugar, it acts as a humectant and helps skin cells retain moisture.

Organic Fair Trade Olive Oil gives the soaps their velvety smoothness. To honor the peace the olive tree symbolizes, the oil is sourced from both Palestinian and Israeli growers: Canaan Fair Trade, founded by Palestinians who support peaceful co-existence and see profitable olive farming as a way of improving Palestinians' economic situation; the Jewish-Israeli Strauss family; and Fair Trade Sindyanna, run by Jewish and Arab women in Israel.

Organic Fair Trade Coconut Oil creates a rich cleansing lather. The coconut oil comes from the Serendipol project in Sri Lanka, where organic compost keeps the soil fertile, every family farmer and worker is paid a fair price, and the Fair Trade premium funds community needs such as medical equipment for local hospitals.

Organic Hemp Oil is in all our soaps! The unsurpassed essential fatty acid content of hemp oil mirrors our skin's natural oil and makes the soaps smoother, less drying. Dr. Bronner's worked for more than a decade to overturn the federal ban on hemp cultivation, and they believe that soon they'll be able to source their hemp oil from American Farmers. Hemp will become an environmentally sustainable solution for thousands of other products too!

Organic Fair Trade Palm Kernel Oil comes from sustainable small farms in Educador. No rainforest habitat or wildlife is harmed and no new deforestation occurs due to oil palm farming - rather care is taken to conserve and restore the local ecosystem

Directions

Organic Body and Hair Care in One Bottle

Dr. Bronner's Fair Trade & Organic Sugar Soaps are excellent for washing hands and face - place by your sink or in the shower! The organic shikakai powder and organic sugar in this soap no only make it an ideal facial cleanser, but also perfect for washing hair. When using any of the soaps to wash your hair, it is recommended you follow up with a lightly acidic conditioning rinse, such as Dr. Bronner's Citrus Organic Hair Rinse (diluted apple cider vinegar works too!).

15 Small Business Brands You Can Support at Vitacost.com

The Covid-19 pandemic has significantly impacted small businesses and brands. Social distancing, varying stay-at-home orders and less travel (i.e. fewer tourists) mean independently-owned, small businesses see less foot traffic. Combined with competition from e-commerce giants like Amazon who are thriving during the pandemic—small business brands face challenging times. Thirty million small-business jobs are vulnerable, and companies with fewer than 100 employers were hit hardest by COVID, according to McKinsey reports. Torso View of Woman Making Effort to Shop Small Business Brands Online opening Box From Vitacost | Vitacost.com/blog Before the pandemic, supporting small businesses was increasingly popular, with 91 percent of consumers visiting a small local business once per week, and 46 percent two to four times per week, according to a Cox survey. To continue to business owners digitally, during this challenging time, shop small business brands at Vitacost! Here are 15 great brands to try.

Composting is another sustainable practice that continues to grow in popularity. Five states and six municipalities have organic waste recycling laws or mandates, according to recent reports. For those who compost, BioBag has multiple options for biodegradable bags. When collecting organic waste, it only makes sense to use a bag or product that can also be compostable and while there are many biodegradable options out there, Biobag is a small, privately-owned company that uses specific GMO-free crops to create the resin on their bags. Besides bags for compost or other waste, they also have reusable bags that can take the place of single-use plastic alternatives.
