6 Best Anti-Aging Tips for Spring

Warmer weather is just around the corner, and that means so is more frequent exposure to the sun’s UV rays. While soaking up sunshine certainly feels good after a season spent indoors – (not to mention our bodies need it to make vitamin D – too much can damage and wrinkle the skin. What’s the best anti-aging solution? First, know that your skin is an organ that not only needs outside protection but also to be nourished from the inside. Here are six simple steps you can take to keep your skin safe and beautiful this spring.

Use high-quality sun block

Without exception, apply sun protection in the morning, and reapply it throughout the day – especially if you’ll be exposed to the sun. Look for products that contain titanium or zinc oxide. One option is Glonaturals Essentials Collection Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30. Besides containing 7 percent zinc oxide, it’s made of non-GMO ingredients and is smooth and light to apply.

Eat berries

These little fruits pack a big punch when it comes to antioxidant protection. Eat blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries to your heart’s content. They contain flavonoids that can help protect skin cells – along with other cells in the body – from free radical damage.

Take antioxidants

In addition to eating foods that are high in antioxidants – such as fruits, vegetables, nuts and tea – consider taking an antioxidant supplement. Vitamins A, C, E and the mineral selenium are well-known free radical fighters that can be taken individually or in a combination formula.

Use a moisturizing facial scrub

To cleanse your skin, and revive its glow, mix together ½ tsp of brown sugar in 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and gently scrub your face. This is a lovely recipe for removing sunscreen and makeup, and it also helps to slough off dead skin cells. Or try Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub featuring sea kelp and chlorella in addition to many other organic and revitalizing ingredients. This product is free of sulfates, parabens, gluten, PEG, petroleum, phthalates and silicone.

Use a vitamin C serum

After a long day lounging in the sun, apply some potent antioxidant power to your face. Try Russell Organics Vitamin C Serum which contains not only a lot of vitamin C, but also green tea extract, and a host of other botanical and nutrient antioxidants. You can also apply a firming antioxidant eye serum such as Glonaturals Firming Eye Serum which also contains hyaluronic acid, lipoic acid and DMAE—all great ingredients for nourishing and hydrating your skin.

Hydrate

To keep your skin hydrated, be sure to drink water! Drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water every day. And if you’re exercising or doing outdoor sports, and sweating a lot, increase this amount and add additional electrolytes to the mix.
