Frontier Co-op® Organic Onion Granules (Allium cepa) are made from dehydrated, ground onions. This is a popular shortcut for situations calling for raw onions, saving you time while delivering strong onion aroma and flavor.
These onion granules are ready to use. They cut preparation time by delivering great onion flavor without the cleaning, rinsing, peeling, and dicing! Small in size, these onion bits blend well in any prepared dish or sauce and they have a long shelf life. No tears and no cut fingers! They are also a great salt alternative.
Frontier Co-op Organic Onion Granules deliver a tearless aroma with a pungent flavor. These onion granules provide a combination of sweet and spicy tastes that leave a zesty aroma to many prepared dishes.
Frontier Co-op Organic Onion Granules are sourced from the U.S. using clean techniques that deliver maximized aroma and flavor. Our dehydrated, diced onion granules are 100% organic, Kosher certified, and non-irradiated! There are no artificial chemicals or additives used at any stage of harvesting and manufacturing.
Owned by stores and organizations that buy and sell our products, Frontier Co-op® has been a member-owned cooperative since 1976. We support natural living and our products are never irradiated or treated with ETO. We're committed to the health and welfare of the environment and everyone producing and consuming our botanical products.
Onion granules provide easily dispersible onion flavor, but not texture. They're more easily measured than flakes, and won't cake like powdered onion. They also provide more bulk and thickening properties than powder. Use granules in blends, meats, canned and frozen foods. Granules can be added directly to most foods, but to rehydrate before adding to recipes that don't contain enough liquid, simply mix with enough cool water to make a smooth paste, then add the paste near the end of cooking. To substitute for 1/2 cup of minced onion, use 1 Tablespoon granulated onion.
Suggested Use: Use onion when you want an onion flavor, aroma, and some texture in your recipe. They work well in casseroles, soups, sauces, meatloaf, vegetable dishes, relishes, breads and stuffings.
