Frontier Co-op® Organic Fennel Seed Powder (Foeniculum vulgare Mill.) is a distinctive and fragrant addition to many dishes.

 

Fennel seeds are commonly used in seafood dishes to provide a flavor similar to licorice. They can also be used in soups, salads, grains and vegetables for a distinctive taste.

 

Fennel has a flavor profile similar to that of licorice and anise. Our fennel seed powder is of the more flavorful Turkish variety, which has even more of a licorice tone and aroma.

Directions

Turkey Meatloaf with Sweet Corn & Chopped Fresh Rosemary, Sliced into Portions on Parchment Paper

Rosemary Sweet Corn Turkey Meatloaf

  • 2 lbs. ground turkey
  • 2 cups sweet corn kernels
  • 8 oz. white mushrooms (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup white onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 8 sprigs fresh rosemary (stems removed, finely chopped)
  • 4 oz. gluten-free bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. dried parsley
  • 2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. fennel seed (ground)
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. white pepper
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Set out 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In small bowl, combine all spices.
  3. In large bowl, add all ingredients. Use hands to combine well. Form into loaf shape and place in loaf pan.
  4. Bake 75 minutes, then turn oven to broil 3-5 minutes at end to brown top.
