Skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora) is an herb that grows uncultivated in the marshy lands of Canada, the northern and eastern parts of the United States, and southeast Asia. In China, the plant roots are known as huang quin and to ease several conditions.
Skullcap herb has been used for centuries but it is most commonly used as a traditional calming and relaxing herb.
Skullcap is not often recognized for its culinary uses, but it does make a delightful calming tea.
