Learn how to make eyeshadow in the colors that flatter you. Some examples include turmeric for gold, beet root powder for pink and activated charcoal for grey or black. Arrowroot powder and pure shea butter make up the base ingredients with a long list of options depending on the color you want to try.
How to Make Eyeshadow With Natural Ingredients
Base Ingredients
- 1/4-1/2 tsp. arrowroot powder
- 1/4 tsp. pure shea butter
Colors
- Turmeric (for gold)
- Cacao powder (and/or nutmeg)
- Beet root powder (for pink)
- Red clay (for red)
- Activated charcoal (for black/grey)
- Green clay (or spirulina for green)
- Saffron (and beet powder for orange)
- Micas (can be used for shimmer)
- White clay (red clay and rose clay can be used to lighten or darken)
- In small bowl or mortar, place arrowroot powder with chosen color combination. (Note: Start small, slowly adding more until desired color and tone is achieved.) Blend well.
- Add shea butter, using back of spoon or pestle to blend well. Mixture should still be powdery.
- Place in small, clear container for storage.
- Apply to clean skin.
