Chicken Teriyaki Meatballs

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]These chicken teriyaki meatballs are the kind of weeknight recipe that feels effortless but still delivers big, crave-worthy flavor. Juicy ground chicken gets a savory boost from ginger, garlic and soy sauce, then bakes up tender while you whisk together a glossy homemade teriyaki sauce that’s sweet, savory and just a little sticky. Toss the warm meatballs in the sauce, sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds, and you’ve got a crowd-pleasing dish that’s perfect over rice, tucked into lettuce cups or served as a fun appetizer.

A Black Serving Dish is Filled With Chicken Teriyaki Meatballs and Garnished With Green Onions and Sesame Seeds.

Chicken Teriyaki Meatballs

Meatballs

  • 1 lb. ground chicken
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 tsp. Frontier Co-op Ground Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. Frontier Co-op Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce

Teriyaki Sauce

  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup + 2 Tbsp. cold water
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. Frontier Co-op Ground Ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. Frontier Co-op Garlic Powder
  • 2 Tbsp. sliced green onion
  • 1 tsp. Frontier Co-op Sesame Seeds
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In large bowl, add all meatball ingredients. Mix until evenly incorporated.
  3. Using 1 or 2 Tbsp. cookie scoop, portion out meatballs, shape into balls and place on baking sheet.
  4. Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until cooked through.
  5. While meatballs bake, make teriyaki sauce. In small dish, combine cornstarch and 2 Tbsp. cold water. Set aside.
  6. In saucepan over medium heat, add ¼ cup water, soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger and garlic. Bring to boil, then slowly whisk in cornstarch mixture, whisking constantly 30 to 60 seconds until sauce is thickened. Remove from heat.
  7. When meatballs are done, add to large bowl and toss with teriyaki sauce.
  8. Serve warm garnished with green onion and sesame seeds.
