Honesty. Integrity. Transparency. Those are three words you might not often use to describe a dietary supplement company. But at MegaFood, standards and practices are a little different than at your average vitamin manufacturer. MegaFood believes that farm fresh, whole foods are the best way to deliver authentic nourishment, and not just vitamins and minerals alone. That’s why they source over 500,000 pounds of fruits, vegetables and whole grains from family-owned farms each year straight to their facilities in New Hampshire. To date, they have formed six farm-fresh partnerships with farms throughout the country known for their commitment to grow with care and their use of ethical farming practices.
Uncle Matt’s Organics
Megafood gets the oranges that deliver their vitamin C offerings (in the Complex C, Ultra C and certain multivitamins) fresh off the tree from Uncle Matt’s Organic. Located in Clermont, Florida, near Orlando, Matt McLean and his team grow citrus without synthetic pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers to ensure that they’re producing nutritious crops and maintaining the integrity of the soil.
Kauai Organic Farms
Phil and Linda Green own and manage the 45-acre organic ginger and turmeric farm located on Kauai’s north shore. With plenty of rainwater, sunshine and fertile soil, Hawaii is one of the places ginger and turmeric can be grown. Thanks to the organic and sustainable farming techniques, including no-waste crop rotation, the crops grown at Kauai Organic Farms are done so without harmful additives. MegaFood delivers this turmeric in their Whole Body, Joint and Liver supplements.
Stahlbush® Island Farms
With a strong commitment to quality and sustainability, Stahlbush® Island Farms is the source of beets used in MegaFood’s supplements, such as Blood Builder. The Oregon farm has been family owned since 1985, but in 1997, it became the first farm to be certified sustainable by the Food Alliance. Among other eco-friendly practices, they turn agricultural byproducts (like corn husks) into electricity that powers the farm! Even today, the farm continues to work towards increased sustainability.
Lundberg Family Farms
Third and fourth generations of Lundbergs run the family farm in Richvale, California today. Through their use of eco-positive farming methods, they have been able to supply MegaFood with over 80,000 pounds of organic rice in one year! The Lundbergs continuously strive to not only protect but enhance their land and the surrounding environment for future generations.
James Lake Farms
With production dating back to 1950, James Lake Farms in northern Wisconsin has a long, diverse history. Today, the goal of owners John and Nora Stauner is to continue the tradition of farming innovation by implementing natural and effective organic growing methods. You can reap the benefits of James Lake Farms’ organic cranberries in MegaFood’s Pure Cranberry.
Foxy Organic
In MegaFood’s Balanced B Complex, you’ll find one of your favorite salad ingredients: kale. That leafy green comes from Foxy Organic’s 25,000 acres of farmland, primarily located in California’s Salinas Valley. To ensure they’re producing the highest quality produce, the kale is grown in the lush California climate in the summer, but calls Nevada and Arizona home in the winter. This dedication to quality and their strong commitment to farming and the land are the reason MegaFood partnered with them.
