What is Yerba Mate?
Yerba Mate (Ilex Paraguariensis) is a shrub or small tree growing up to 15 meters tall. For hundreds of years, the people of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay have used yerba mate leaves to make a stimulating tea that re-energizes the body and mind. These leaves are a source of alkaloids such as theobromine as well as caffeic acid derivatives, saponins, caffeine, and several antioxidant flavonoids used since ancient times for its rejuvenating, nutritional, and energizing effects, particularly for mental and physical fatigue.
