  • Natural Source of Healthy Fatty Acids
  • Good Source of Fiber
  • Cold Pressed
  • Hearty, Nutritious & Wholesome

NOW Real Food Organic Flaxseed Meal has a mild, nutty flavor similar to wheat germ and it's often added to cereals, pancakes, muffins, breads, meatloaf, meatballs, and even yogurt. Flax is a natural plant source of healthy fatty acids and a good source of fiber.

Due to its fiber content, Flax should be consumed with plenty of water.

Our proprietary cold milling and sifting process does not grind, crush, or liberate the oil, unlike typical flax processing, giving our product a longer shelf life.

Fresher ingredients simply taste better, which is why this product is packaged using NOW Fresh Fill Technology to maximize flavor and freshness.

Quinoa Burgers

When it comes to vegetarian burgers, black bean is the leading pick. It’s the plant-based patty most often found on restaurant menus and one of the easiest to make at home. Though the dense texture of black beans makes them an excellent burger ingredient, the flavor can be overpowering and too reminiscent of frijoles negros than the classic American barbecue fare. If you need a break from beans, make this healthy vegan option instead. With zesty, flavorful spices, these quick-and-easy patties are perfect for all your meatless burger needs.

Vegan Recipe: Quinoa Burger

Quinoa Burgers

Makes 4 burgers

Ingredients

1-½ cups cooked quinoa
½ cup quinoa flour
1 Tbsp. flax meal
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
½ tsp. cumin
¼ tsp. fennel
¼ tsp. thyme
¼ tsp. sage
¼ tsp. Redmond RealSalt
¼ tsp. black pepper
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 Tbsp. water
1-½ tsp. apple cider vinegar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Stir well until mixture sticks together, adding more water or quinoa flour, as necessary. The mixture should stick to your hands slightly, but hold itself together well.
  3. Scoop out ¼ cup worth for each patty. Tightly pack each scoop so they stay together and place on baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes, flip patties and continue to bake another 10 minutes, until firm and golden.

Variation:

These patties can also be fried in coconut oil. Simply fry them over low or medium heat for 8 minutes on each side.
