What Is Permethrin?

Clothing-Worn Repellent | Permethrin is an insecticide in the pyrethroid family. Pyrethroids - synthetic chemicals that act like natural extracts from the chrysanthemum flower - kill insects upon contact. Designed to treat clothing and gear. Ranger Ready Permethrin 0.5% lasts up to 40 days or 5 washes. 


Directions

How To Apply:

  1. Always wear protective gloves. Lay plastic or sheet on ground.
  2. Shake well before use, hold sprayer 6-8 inches above surface. Spray evenly. Spray front and back and under fabric folds.
  3. Hand dry for 2+ hours.
  4. Wash up to 5 times or reapply every 40 days.

Use Restrictions: Do not allow adults, children, or pets to enter until sprays have dried. Do not breathe dust, vapors or spray mist. Do not use in aircraft cabins. Not for use in outdoor residential misting systems. Do not treat bare skin or clothing on the body. Do not allow contact with treated surfaces until spray has dried. Do not allow spray to contact food, or water supplies. Do not contaminate feed and foodstuffs. Remove pets and birds and cover fish aquariums before surface applications. Do not use on humans. Do not allow children or pets to contact treated areas until surfaces are dry. Do not use in commercial food/feed handling establishments, restaurants or other commercial facilities where food is commercially prepared, processed, or served. Do not use in institutions, schools, office buildings or similar commercial buildings.

Warnings

Caution. Harmful if absorbed through skin. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing. Avoid breathing spray mist. Wash thoroughly after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco, or using the toilet. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

 

Environmental Hazards

This pesticide is extremely toxic to aquatic organisms, including fish and invertebrates. To protect the environment, do not allow pesticide to enter or runoff into storm drains, drainage ditches, gutters or surface waters. Apply this product in calm weather when rain is not predicted for the next 24 hours will help to ensure that wind or rain does not blow or wash pesticide off the treatment area. This pesticide is highly toxic to bees exposed to direct treatment on blooming crops or weeds. Do not apply this product or allow it to drift to blooming crops or weeds while bees are foraging in the treatment area.

 

First Aid

If on Skin of Clothing: Take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice. If Swallowed: Call a poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by a poison control center or doctor. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If Inhaled: Move person to fresh air. If person is not breathing, call 911 or an ambulance, then give artificial respiration, preferably mouth-to-mouth if possible. Call a poison control center or doctor for further treatment advice. If in Eyes: Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eyes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advise. Have the product container or label with you when calling a poison control center or doctor or going for treatment.
