Dog Hot Chocolate Recipe

Made with dog-friendly carob, it's a delicious and nutritious alternative to traditional chocolate-based drinks. Why carob? Carob is a superfood packed with essential vitamins and minerals like B2, calcium, magnesium and iron. It also aids in digestion and can help lower cholesterol. Plus, it's a tasty and safe way to indulge your pet without the risks associated with chocolate.
Dog Hot Chocolate
- 1 cup milk or oat milk (unsweetened)
- 1 Tbsp. carob powder
- 1 Tbsp. honey (optional)
- In small saucepan, combine ingredients over low heat, whisking often until smooth and heated through. Do not boil.
- Remove from heat and cool to lukewarm temperature.
- Serve in mug or bowl.
Get fancy with a little froth! Use a milk frother or whipped cream dispenser to top your furbaby’s hot chocolate. Go one step further and dust the froth with a little peanut butter powder.
Most dogs can’t process the lactose in dairy products well. It may be better to use a non-dairy alternative. Oat milk and coconut milk are great options.
IMPORTANT
Never feed your dog or cat chocolate, including cocoa powder. It contains theobromine which is extremely toxic to pets.
