Whole food proteins

Did you  know that not all proteins are created equal? Some proteins are "isolates" which means they are extracted compounds that lose nutrients by the time they get to you. We don't use isolates. our Protein Pancake Mix contains critical amino acids and other micronutrients your body needs to thrive with 11g of whole food protein.

Sweetened with coconut sugar

Coconut sugar comes from perennial trees that thrive within agroforestry systems.

Got Health Goals? Here’s 5 Reasons to Try a Registered Dietitian.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A new year brings new opportunities. Many people see this time of year as a new beginning, a time to refresh and restart. The age-old tradition of creating New Year’s resolutions is a typical first step in crafting new aspirations for the year. If your intentions for the new year are focused on your health, consulting with a dietitian is a great way to start your year off on the right foot. Here are five benefits to seeing a dietitian, plus how a dietitian can help you achieve your health goals this year.

What Does a Registered Dietitian Do? Here’s 5 Ways They Help You Meet Goals.

1. Create a plan individualized to your needs

The majority of New Year’s resolutions are set forth with the best intentions. It’s easy to declare “I will move more this year,” or “I will live a healthier lifestyle this year,” but these statements are nothing without a plan to back them up. Your needs are unique to you. No one else is living in the same exact scenario that you are currently in. That means that your plan to achieve your New Year’s resolutions should be uniquely tailored to you and your lifestyle. A Registered Dietitian is an expert not just in the field of nutrition but also in behavior change. Focusing on behavior change can be a tool to creating a plan that fits your needs.

2. Set up goals that fit your lifestyle

Without goals, there is nothing concrete to strive towards. When a goal is set, it is important to make sure the goal is SMART. Trying to make several changes at once can be overwhelming and may lead to disappointment or discouragement. This year, try making SMART goals, and setting new goals for each month. SMART goals are goals that are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely. By setting SMART goals, you are able to hold yourself accountable and increase the likelihood of reaching these goals. Making sure your goals are SMART is a learned skill that a dietitian can help you achieve.

3. Improve your quality of life

If you are looking to begin your journey of living a healthy lifestyle, working with a dietitian is a great way to start. Taking small steps can have a large impact on your overall health. Every small step you take and every little change you incorporate into your daily life will eventually lead to lifelong healthy habits. This creates a life where making healthy choices is simply second nature and no longer a chore or work.

4. Gain nutrition knowledge

When grocery shopping, do you ever question if you are making the right choice? It can be difficult to navigate food and health claims on packages. There are a lot of different health claims that can be used on food and drink packages that are not always clear to the customer. The best way to truly know what is in your food is to read the nutrition label as well as the ingredient list. But how do you know what to look for? A Registered Dietitian is the perfect person to ask! Reading nutrition labels can be made simple with a little help from a dietitian. Not only can a dietitian provide you with the knowledge and skills of reading a label, but they can also help you determine which attributes are most important for your health. They can also assist in helping determine what the many different ingredient names mean and what to look out for, eliminating the confusion that may occur when grocery shopping. Every dietitian’s goal is to provide the knowledge needed in order to make healthy decisions clear and simple.

5. Be a source of accountability

It is easy to keep New Year’s resolutions top of mind at the beginning of the year when the idea and goals are fresh. As the year progresses, our goals may no longer be our priority. One role a dietitian can play in your health journey is as an accountability partner. A dietitian can help keep you on the right track to improve your health. They are a source of knowledge when a question arises or when an unpredictable situation occurs. A dietitian can provide the skills needed to overcome barriers that may be preventing you from reaching your goal – your very own problem solver! Teaming up with a dietitian may be a great first step to achieving your health goals this new year. A dietitian can assist with creating an individualized plan, setting up goals that fit your lifestyle, improve your quality of life, help you gain nutrition knowledge and be a source of accountability. This is your year to achieve your health goals and create a healthy, sustainable life. Getting started with a dietitian is simply a click away.
