Making this classic Mexican restaurant dish at home may have seemed like a fantasy – until now. With the same ingredients our abuelas used when cooking from scratch, this sauce gives you rich and delicious Al Pastor tacos in minutes. Just brown 1.5-2 lbs of meat (we like chicken or pork), pour in sauce & let simmer. Bonus tip: these sauces are also great in a slow cooker or as a grill marinade!

Bacon Fried Rice With Hatch Chiles

  • 1 large hatch green chile (minced)
  • 3 slices bacon (cooked)
  • 3 eggs (beaten)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 Tbsp. ginger (minced)
  • 1 avocado (sliced)
  • 3 green onions (white tips and greens sliced)
  • 2 cups white rice (cooked)
  • 1 tsp. sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. msg (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  1. Heat wok or large skillet on high heat with oil.
  2. Add hatch chile and cook for 2 minutes. Add ginger, garlic and whites of green onion. Sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Add rice, salt, soy sauce, msg, sesame oil and pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
  4. Add eggs and mix into the rice and cook for 2 minutes. Add cooked bacon.
  5. Garnish with sliced avocado and green onions.
