Flaxseed offers the benefits of fiber, Omega-3 fatty acid Alpha-Linolenic Acid (ALA), protein and SDG lignans. Fiber promotes regularity, supports normal functioning of the digestive tract and healthy hair, skin and nails. This premium flaxseed is a highly concentrated source of secoisolariciresinol diglucoside (SDG) lignans - which are phytonutrients.

Spectrum Essentials® Brand Flaxseeds are premium quality organic seeds that have been carefully selected for their nutritive content. Flaxseed is a highly concentrated source of SDG lignans- the amount of SDG lignans can vary from 0.7% to 1/9% of seed weight depending on seasonal variation in growing conditions. These select seeds are meticulously cleaned using a three-part process that finely slices the seed, rather than crushing it, thereby preventing the loss of valuable nutrients from oxidation. The sliced seed is immediately packaged in this light-protective pouch and then flushed with an inert gas and airtight sealed to ensure optimum nutritive benefits and product freshness.
Directions
Suggested Serving: 2-3 Tbsp. daily. Can be eaten alone, sprinkled on cereal, yogurt and other foods, or used in baking. For more omega-3 benefits, Spectrum Essentials® Brand Organic Flax Oil is recommended. Consult your healthcare practitioner for your individual needs.

Chocolate-Covered Grapes

Just poke, dip, roll and plate. A quick roll in flaxseed adds a helping of nutty flavor and omega-3s – and gives a finishing touch that kicks up the presentation to party-worthy.
Chocolate-Dipped Grapes
- 1 oz. chocolate bar (or chocolate chips )
- 30 green grapes
- 2 tsp. ground flaxseed
- In double boiler, melt chocolate.
- In small dish, add flaxseed. Line large, flat plate with parchment paper.
- Stick short skewer in grape on side opposite stem. Dip in melted chocolate, roll in flaxseed and set on plate. Repeat with remaining grapes.
- Eat as is, or freeze and serve cold.
