Minty Cilantro Chutney
If you’ve ever eaten Indian food, you’re probably familiar with green chutney. Traditionally, the popular and versatile condiment is made from a mixture of cilantro, lemon, chilies and coriander. This version doesn’t quite follow suit; instead, it offers an exciting twist to the conventional ingredients. Jalapenos, fresh lime juice, turmeric and cumin give this chutney spice, while mint leaves add a refreshing zing of flavor.
Ingredients
1 cup cilantro, chopped
1 cup mint leaves, chopped
1 tsp. turmeric
¼ tsp. cumin powder
Fennel seeds, to taste
2 jalapeño peppers, diced
2 Tbsp. unrefined virgin coconut oil
Juice of 3 limes
Pinch of sea salt, optional
Zest of 1 lime, optional
Directions
- In a blender or food processor, pulse until a sauce/paste consistency is reached.
- Use as a dipping sauce, marinade or spread.
