Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be all about romance. Romantic love isn’t the only type of love. Make this year a Gal-entine’s Day celebration and let your besties know how much they mean to you.
Of course, Gal-entine’s looks a bit different from your traditional Valentine’s Day celebration. You can still incorporate some of the best elements of gift giving with a girl-power twist. Every “Girl Gang” has a different vibe, so go with your gut and center your celebration around how fabulous your girls really are.
The athletic gang
If you and your girls are the type that love to get your bodies moving, plan a hike, a class at the gym or a private boot camp session. Sometimes schedules can be an impediment to group gatherings. In that case, you can make fun workout themed gifts by filling a reusable water bottle with protein bars, earphones and electrolyte drink mix packets.
You can get more personal by adding an activity-specific item like yoga socks, a heart rate monitor or leg warmers. Remember, even with your Girl Gang, it’s always the thought that counts.
The spa-going gang
While you might not be able to swing a full spa day for you and your girlfriends, look around at local spas to see if they offer discount days or free childcare on certain days of the week and initiate a fun day-cation for your Girl Gang.
Then again, you can skip the expensive spa plan a day of pampering at your house. Make pitchers of cucumber and lemon water, download a “tranquility” playlist, fill your diffuser with lavender essential oil, tell your girls to bring their robes and have in-home spa kits waiting for them when they arrive.
Fill a medium-sized basket with travel size lotion, a mini manicure kit, a wrap towel for your hair and an organic face mask. Even if your gang can only steal away for an hour on a Saturday morning, there will be no better way to let them know you appreciate them and know they need a break as much as you do.
The on-the-go gang
Sometimes your gang is a hodgepodge of different women who all love different things, but you love them all the same. These days the one thing we can count on is that all of your girlfriends have a crazy busy schedule. Whether it’s working long hours in a high powered corporate position or being the CEO of their family, you know the women in your life are trying to do it all no matter what that “all” consists of, and in the end all we really want to to know we’re loved.
Grab some reusable bags and put in a few items your know each woman will appreciate. From kids snacks and baby wipes to a prepaid coffee card and organic mints, no matter what your best gals could use make sure to pair it with a hand written not telling them just how much they mean to you.
