Frontier Co-Op Kosher Flake Sea Salt Description
Sprinkle a pinch of our kosher flaked sea salt to perfectly finish a dish. Many recipes and chefs call specifically for kosher salt due to the unique shape of its flat crystals and the more rounded, less harshly alkaline flavor it has over ordinary table salt. The increased surface area of these flakes helps the salt adhere beautifully to foods such as pretzels, breads and salted caramels. Unlike some brands of kosher salt, our bulk kosher salt flakes are actually made from real ocean water.

Baked Feta in Phyllo
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Crispy, flaky phyllo wrapped around warm, tangy cheese is quite possibly the epitome of effortless elegance. This baked feta feels like something you’d nibble at a sunlit Greek café — salty, lemon-bright and fragrant with thyme. A quick drizzle of honey adds just enough sweetness to make each bite feel special, whether you’re hosting friends or treating yourself and family to a cozy moment in the kitchen.
Baked Feta in Phyllo
- 14 oz. feta (blocks, not packed in brine)
- Cooking spray
- 9 frozen phyllo dough sheets (13 x 9-inch sheets, thawed, divided)
- 2 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil (plus more for brushing)
- 1 tsp. finely grated lemon zest (divided)
- 1/2 tsp. dried thyme (or 1 tsp. fresh thyme leaves, divided)
- Honey (for serving)
- Flaky sea salt (for finishing)
- Wrap feta blocks in clean dish towel. Place on cutting board and weigh down with heavy pan or skillet 30-60 minutes to remove excess moisture.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray baking sheet with cooking spray.
- Slice each feta block in half lengthwise, then cut into thirds to yield 24 small pieces, about 1-1/2 x 1/2 inch.
- Place one phyllo sheet on cutting board and lightly brush with olive oil. Cut into thirds lengthwise to create strips about 13 x 4 inches. Keep unused phyllo covered with damp towel to prevent drying.
Place piece of feta at end of phyllo strip. Sprinkle lightly with lemon zest and thyme. Roll phyllo around feta, folding in sides and brushing with olive oil as needed to seal. Repeat with remaining feta and phyllo.
Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in large skillet over medium heat. Cook wrapped feta bites, turning gently, until golden and crispy on all sides, about 30 seconds per side. Transfer to prepared baking sheet.
In oven, bake 5-7 minutes, until feta is warmed through and slightly softened.
- To serve, transfer feta wraps to serving platter, drizzle with honey and finish with flaky sea salt. Serve warm.
