Simply Organic® Flat-Leafed Parsley Flakes (Petroselinum crispum var. neapolitanum) are processed from the aromatic flowering parsley plant in the Apiaceae (Umbelliferae) family. It is indigenous to the Mediterranean region but can also be found in Europe. It is commonly cultivated as a vegetable, spice, and herb.

Parsley leaf is known for its crunchy texture as a garnish, but it also provides a mildly aromatic flavor with a bitter taste. It is a very popular ingredient in fish, meats, soups, sauces, and salads. It is often the principal ingredient of bouquet garni (removable, tied herbs) and fines herbes (mixed herbs).

Our suppliers harvest the parsley and immediately transport it to an indoor drying facility to maximize quality. On the grower side, we are supporting organic compost production in Tunisia right on our grower partner Herbiotech Aroma’s farm, providing both the equipment and training needed to produce and spread compost on its land. The result: beautiful, high quality herbs that keep Mother Nature happy — and give real flavor to your cooking.

Holiday-Worthy Salmon Mousse (for Dogs & Cats!)

Making your own fancy salmon treats for dogs and cats is easy and fun with packaged wild-caught salmon and a blender. This super fun salmon mousse is a fantastic way to spoil your furry friend with a little gourmet flair, and it takes only minutes to make. No baking required!
Holiday-Worthy Salmon Mousse (for Dogs & Cats!)
- 1 can (5 oz.) wild-caught salmon? (drained)
- 1/3 cup bone broth (unsalted or low sodium)
- 2 Tbsp. cottage cheese
- 1/2 Tbsp. parsley (optional)
- 1 tsp. gelatin (unflavored)
- 1/2 tsp. flaxseed meal
- In small saucepan, add bone broth and sprinkle gelatin on top. Let sit 3-4 minutes to allow it to bloom.
- Turn on stove burner to low heat under saucepan and gently stir continuously until gelatin is completely dissolved. Allow to cool.
- In food processor, pulse salmon, cottage cheese, flaxseed meal and parsley until smooth.
- Once gelatin is cooled, add to salmon mixture and blend thoroughly.
- Into silicone mold, lightly oiled ramekins or loaf pan, pour mixture.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate several hours, or overnight, until firmly set.
- To serve, turn out mousse onto plate and slice into portions.
- Refrigerate in air-tight container for 1 week. Freeze for 3 months.
